Lawyer Dafeamekpor and Hon. Kofi Adams brush off excuses from Lawyer Kwame Antwi on delay of bill

Readers can recall how the minority have accusing the Chairman of the constitutional Committee for deliberately delaying the process for passing the Anti-LGBTQ Bill. The discussion on this bill seems to take different dimensions each passing day.

On Saturday, 11th June 2022, Lawyer Kwame Antwi explained that the process has been constrained by financial constraints due to the cost of paying fuel allowances to committee members . He had initially complained about the high cost of Live TV hearing for the committee.

Lawyer Rockson Dafeamekpor and Hon. Kofi Adams have openly disagreed with Lawyer Kwame Antwi on his excuses.

According to Lawyer Dafeamekpor, the budgetary concerns raised by the Chairman should not be the case because all financial issues are handled by Damfeamekpor’s Committee but they have no such request.

Honourable Kofi Adams also said that the process should be speedened . He had initially complained about some private hearings presided over by the Chairman but this has been rebutted by Kwame Antwi. Honourable Kofi Adams explained that the culture of the country does not allow LGBTQ and this should make it easier to pass the bill without any issue. He said that swiftly passing the bill will not mean it will not stand the test of time.
