Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has waded into the ongoing National Cathedral Project issue. He has asked whether former President John Mahama will continue the national cathedral project or turn it into tourist site when he is voted to power. Many Ghanaians have reacted to his question.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 11th June 2022 A Plus wrote;
“Dear John Dramani Mahama
When you become president, what will happen to the national cathedral? Will the project be continued, abandoned, or it will be turned into a world class medical tourism facility?”.
He further quizzed if John Mahama supports the national cathedral silently because he is a member of Assemblies of God church.
Background
The question of A Plus comes as a background to many mixed feelings expressed by Ghanaians on the national cathedral project. Some believe that the government should channel the money into other developmental project due to the economic hardship. The brouhaha started when a seed money of 25million was released for the cathedral building.
Others asserts that it’s a promise made to God and hence Nana Akufo-Addo should fufill it.
Reactions.
Some people said that the project is not a government project but rather a private project. If so John Mahama is not obliged to continue when he comes to power.
Others believe that the project will continue if JM comes to power.
Others expressed that all politicians are the same and hence the project will be continued but with private fund.
