Reason Bantamahene Is Never And Ever Allowed To Sit Behind Otumfour & Why He Must Go Half-naked.

Today let’s learn some history and culture. Culturally, the Bantamahene is never and ever allowed to sit behind Otumfour during gatherings. Again, he must go half naked anytime he approaches Otumfour. This is the Cultural reason behind this action. I hope you’ll be educated and entertained.

According to history, the first Bantamahene who was appointed nearly conquered the Kingdom by trying to eliminate the then Otumfour with arms. That reportedly happened during a gathering so many years ago.

After reconciliation, there were trust issues between the then King and the Bantamahene. A new law was made that, anytime the Bantamahene approaches Otumfour , he must go half naked to prove that there is nothing like ammunition on him. Incase there are armed guards around him, they must all drop their weapons. When they are leaving, they must bow for permission before picking their arms.

Again, Incase there is a gathering, the Bantamahene is supposed to sit in the open gathering infront of Otumfour. He is never allowed to sit at his back for the security protection of the Otumfour.
