Anti LGBT+ Bill Proponents Wants LGBT+ Billboards Down Within 24 Hours.

Talks have been all over here in Ghana against the advocacy of LGBT+ activities. In the light of that, some members of Parliament made it a priority to sponsor a private member bill to put further restrictions on the activities of the LGBT+ community members here in Ghana. The focus of the bill is to promoting proper human sexual life and Ghanaian family. Vocal among the Anti LGBT+ Bill proponents is Honourable Sam George.

On the back of the recent erection of billboards by this minority group, giant billboards have been erected on major roads in the country in commemoration of the gay pride month which falls in June each year. One of the billboards cited at the end of the Tema Accra bound side of the motorway has the group’s rainbow colors with an inscription promoting their activities.

However, the proponents of the Anti LGBT+ Bill in Parliament seem to be quite on happy about that. Some members of parliament visited those sites where the billboards have been erected today June 9, 2022 and issued an ultimatum to Dr. Dampare, Inspector General of the Police to in the next 24 hours see to it that the billboards are pulled down.

Speaking to the media at the scene of the billboards, Ningo Prampram MP, Sam George described it as an affront to the country’s laws and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Police and the Municipal Chief Executive officer that area to as a matter of urgency pull the billboards down.
