Even The Great Abedi Pele And Tony Yeboah Were Criticized- Gary Uses Legends to Advise Inaki

The coming of the William brothers to Ghana has resurrected or brought up a lot of issues. For a very a long time now, Inaki Williams has been linked to play for the Black Stars of Ghana but he has rejected the Ghana national team on countless times.

In one of the interviews that the Atletico striker, Inaki Williams had with the Guardian he boldly revealed that, he doesn’t feel Ghanaian to be able to play for the Black Stars of Ghana, even though he is a Ghanaian by blood.

Ghanaian sports journalist Gary Al-Smith Smith has criticize and advice Inaki and has also asked the Ghana football Association to do the right thing by taking into consideration what the players they invite to the Black Stars want.

Gary Al-Smith in a very lengthy post on his Facebook platform explained in steps what what Inaki Williams should do and what GFA should also do. But in one of the steps, he used former Black Stars players to give a very strong advice to Inaki and even other foreign based players who might want to play for Ghana.

In his point 6, Gary took Ghanaians back by revealing that, Inaki Williams has once said that, he doesn’t feel Ghanaian at all and it is because he didn’t grow in Ghana. So Ghanaians that feels Ghanaians should be encouraged to do play for that black Stars.

Gary then went ahead to say that, now that he is in Ghana if he decides to play for Ghana then he not feeling like a Ghanaian can affect how he treats the team. Besides, Ghanaians will criticize him because they even criticized great footballers such as Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah, so is he ready to be criticized as well? Won’t that have other effects on the national team?

He wrote, “6. If you do not feel Ghanaian, it will affect how you treat the team. How so? Ghanaians will criticize you, no matter who you are. Even the great Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah were criticized.
