Meet The Woman Believed To Have Discovered “Gob3” (Mixture of Beans, Palm Oil & Gari).

Meet Victoria Anyediventor from Adagbledu (Volta Region ), The first woman reportedly credited to have discovered ”gob3”, the popular Ghanaian traditional dish composed of black eyed peas (beans), palm oil/vegetable oil with plantain & Gari.

The dish is enjoyed by nearly everyone in Ghana, a hearty and wholesome food perfect for all the family. The ultimate comforting main, this delicious Ghanaian recipe combines a rich beans stew with fried plantain. Due to the reddish color of the dish it takes on from the red palm oil (zomi) and the fried plantain the name red red was given to the dish. Red red typically consists of fish, such as tinned mackerel or pilchards, black eyed peas, scotch bonnet peppers, onions, oil and tomatoes.

It is believed that Victoria Anyediventor tried it at home first, now the rest is history. Peeps who chanced upon this revelation on Facebook rained all kinds of praises to the said woman for indeed her discovery have become the “saviour of the nation” as they call it.
