Election 2024: The Alan-Bawumia Projection ‘Rubbish’ – Kennedy Agyapong

The member of parliament for Assin Central constituency, honourable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has posited that it will be absolutely ‘rubbish’ to project Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia as potential flag bearers of the party while others are left behind.

Speaking today at conference organised, the lawmaker said that the party should make way for people to be able to contest which ever position they want if they are qualified than to choose favourites.

“With my 22 years as a member of parliament and my experience, any member who want to contest should be allowed to contest because if you don’t resource members of parliament and make them unpopular, you cannot take them back to the Constituency. If you take them back to the Constituency, the Constituency will rebel” he said.

He said the party should allowed anybody who want to contest to contest because it’s the people’s choice that they are after, not the party’s choice or anybody from party headquarters to choose who contest.

He added that if the party is democrats, then they should understand when someone competes in an election does not make him the enemy.

“If we are demonstrats, then we should be ready to compete in. When you lose, you lose. When you win, you win. The Alan-Bawumia projection to me is absolutely rubbish!’ he added.
