The Portuguese did manage to scrape through the playoffs and secure a ticket to the upcoming World Cup. While it definitely is something to be happy about this is not something expected from a team that was supposed to be one of the favorites in Qatar.
They really have lost their fear factor and their objective before December will be to get that back. They do have an amazing team full of talents and they have several fixtures in the next few months to get their mojo back.
Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo will also be fired up after seeing his eternal rival Lionel Messi reigning supreme in international stage lately.
However, the Swiss will definitely have some plans. They are no mean team. They managed to top their qualification group for the World Cup and thus put Italy in the second spot.
And this eventually led to Italy being eliminated in the playoffs and thus being denied an entry into the World Cup for a second successive time.
Through the qualification campaign the Swiss remained completely unbeaten, and had scored the most number of goals in their group as well. Most importantly they had let in a total of just 2 goals all through the tournament as well.
