The managing editor at the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt reveals that the Ghana Police Service has no power to stop a demonstration but the only institution that has the power to stop any demonstration is the high court.
According to Kwesi Pratt, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during their time in ruling the nation implemented public order law which restricted the right to demonstrate but still, the police have no power to stop a demonstration.
Kwesi Pratt went ahead to explain that when the demonstrators write a letter to the Ghana Police Service, the police go through the letter to check whether it is convenient and will not cause any problem for the nation.
