Ghanaian entertainment personality, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has revealed when he joined the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party member.
He made this known in a recent submission he had on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM as he shared his thoughts about why people join political parties.
In his submission, he said;
“I am a politician. I do not have to be paid to support a political party. In opposition, things are different. In power, things are different – things can change at any time. That’s the secret of politics.
Rationalising state expenses are also different when it comes to politics. I have been a member of the NDC from 2008 till now.
If you are directly involved in the activities of the political party you support, when they come to assume the reins of power, they will determine what kind of the reward would be given to you.”
His comments comes after Ghanaian gospel musician, Cwesi Oteng stated in a recent interview that he has not received anything after publicly campaigning for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His comments was under discussion when Sadiq joined to give his opinion using himself as an example in his submission.
