Check These 4 Eye Exercise Tips

1. Focus change

This exercise works by putting a strain on your concentration. It should be carried out while seated.

• Keep your pointer finger a couple of inches from your eye.

• Concentrate on your finger.

• Slowly slide your finger away from your face, retaining your focus.

• Take a step back and gaze into the distance.

• Concentrate on your outstretched finger and bring it slowly back to your eye.

• Take a step back and concentrate on anything in the distance.

• Do this three times more.

2. Near and far focus

This is yet another exercise in concentration. It should also be done from a seated position.

• Focus on your thumb for 15 seconds, holding it around 10 inches from your face.

• Find a 10 to 20-foot-distance object and concentrate on it for 15 seconds.

• Return your concentration to your thumb.

• Repeat five times.

3. Figure eight

This exercise should also be performed while seated.

• Concentrate on a location on the floor about 10 feet in front of you.

• With your eyes, trace an imaginary figure eight.

• Trace for 30 seconds before switching directions.

4. The rule of 20-20-20

For many people, eye strain is a serious issue. Human eyes are not designed to be fixated on a single thing for extended periods. The 20-20-20 rule can help minimize digital eye strain if you work at a computer all day. To put this guideline into action, glance at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.
