A woman known as Adwoa Serwaa gives an account of why she will not allow her 24 years old daughter to marry the man she has given birth with. According to the woman, her daughter dated her boyfriend called Owusu for some years before she found out that the man is a womanizer. She then advised her daughter to break with Owusu but she didn’t listen to any of her advice.
Her daughter continued to date her boyfriend and even gave all her earnings to him. She went to Owusu’s house to informed him that she will not allow her daughter to marry him because of how he used to sleep with different women but the man insulted her and even threatened to beat her up. The woman said after her daughter got pregnant, she went to meet another woman in Owusu’s room. Her daughter asked him about the relationship between the two of them but Owusu beat her for asking him that question.
It was one of his friends who came to rescue her. Serwaa stated that the man didn’t give money to her daughter to buy clothes and the things they will need for the unborn baby. After she delivered, she called Owusu and informed him about the hospital bills but he rather insulted her. Serwaa said she took her youngest daughter’s school fees to pay for the hospital bills. Her daughter was then discharged and came home, it has been 3 months since she gave birth but Owusu has not visited her daughter.
