A Woman Reveals What Her In-Laws Told Her After The Death Of Her Husband

A woman known as Yaa Atta got married to Yaw Osei and both of them went to stay at Pekyerekye. The woman said her husband was a farmer so she helped him on his cocoa farm he did on his family land. They again got 5 acres of land and did another cocoa and cassava farm.

Yaa Ataa continued that they used the money they got from the cocoa farm to buy land, and they decided to build their own house. A few months later, her husband’s nephew who was a fetish priest came to plead with them that she is not having any place to stay so they should allow her to stay on the land they have bought. Yaw Osei allowed her to stay on it and she even built her shrine on the land.

Unfortunately, Yaw fell sick and died but after his funeral rites, her in-laws told her that she doesn’t have any child with her husband so they gave all the property she did with her late husband to the fetish priest. Yaa shares that she fell sick some months later but her in-laws paid only GHC150 from the GH700 she spent whilst she was admitted to the hospital.

According to the fetish priest, what the woman is saying is never true, she explained that after the death of her uncle, the family allow Yaa to sell some of the farm products and used the money for the funeral. It was after the funeral that the family members handed every property they had to her because Yaa doesn’t have a child with her uncle.
