Asante Kotoko express readiness for Medeama game on Sunday, positive of getting the result at Tarkwa

Asante Kotoko are positive of getting the result at Tarkwa on Sunday when they face Medeama SC in a top-of-the-table Matchday 31 clash.

The Porcupines will be in search of their 17th win of the campaign as they chase a first Ghana Premier League, GPL title in eight years.

Kotoko are six points ahead at the top of the stairs from second placed Medeama SC who have played a game more than the leaders.

And despite winning just one of their last five matches, the Porcupines are hopeful of getting the result against the Yellow and Mauves in their own backyard.

Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has taken his charges through their paces all week and insists they will be ready for the action at the Akoon Community Park (ACP), on Sunday afternoon.

“We have to win this game to apiece over fans”, Coach Ogum said ahead of the meeting with Medeama SC.

“Our recent setbacks have drawn us even closer as a unit, and, I am positive that we will rise to the occasion on Sunday and win the three points”, Coach Ogum told the club’s media.

His Asante Kotoko side will come up a very determined Medeama SC side that has gained confidence lately and have been very difficult to breakdown at the ACP this season.

However, Coach Ogum said these are the kind of games he envisages and expects his Kotoko side to go home with the result after the final whistle.

Asante Kotoko needs seven points from their last five matches to be crowned champions of Ghana, and, the gaffer assured that they will look for the points to carry them across the line starting on Sunday in the mining township of Tarkwa.
