Sky Sports accused of being racist after Patrick Viera incident.

Africans have always been maligned in many ways. We are considered inferior in many things. We don’t get the recognition and respect we sometimes deserve. Many media organisations outside Africa tend to broadcast more negative news about Africans or black people than the good ones. Sky Sports, a sports media house based in the UK has been exposed again for its racist posture.

African footballers have always been abused racially in so many places. Instead of the media organisations helping stamp out racism, they are sometimes promoting it through their actions. Normally Sky Sports limits their videos to only audiences in specific geographical locations. If you are outside those jurisdictions, you won’t be able to watch their videos. But it seems when it involves a negative story about a black man, it is broadcasted to the whole world to view removing the location restriction.

When the Kurt Zouma cat video came out, the location restriction was removed for the whole world to see because it involves a black man. Crystal Palace coach Patrick Viera was involved in an altercation with an Everton fan who was taunting him after they lost to them yesterday. Viera got infuriated and kicked the fan. Sky Sports once again removed the location restriction on the video and broadcasted it worldwide for all to see because a black man was involved.

If we are serious about removing racism from the game, then some of these media houses must stop what they are doing. Sky Sports should be ashamed of themselves. Below are some tweets about the incident.
