Sad Update: Two More Feared Dead As Youth Clash With Security Operatives In Nkoranza

Disturbing pictures have started coming in from Nkoranza following a clash between the youth in the town and security operatives. This was after the youth in the town vandalized the police station and chased out all the officers.

The agitation came about as a result of the killing of young man in the area whom the police say is a suspected armed robber. According to family members, Albert Donkor is a multi TV installer and a footballer whom many people know in Nkoranza. On Saturday, the police picked him from his house around 2am with an unregistered vehicle. However by 5am, he had been shot and killed by the police.

The MP for Nkoranza North Hon. Edward Agyekum who spoke to the media said the talented footballer was killed within 4 hours of his arrest.

The youth staged a protest against what the police insists is an intelligence lead operation. Unfortunately the protest became chaotic and a military reinforcement was called to beep up security. In the course of dispersing the crowd, four young men were shot. According to a Ghanaweb report sighted by CitizenOne, two of the injured lost their lives.

Pictures of the sad development have since flooded social media. The military police joint task force has managed to restore some calmness in the area.
