Albert Donkor, a Nkoranza kid who allegedly died while in police custody, is being sought by his mother, who wants him returned to her the same way he was taken.

In an interview with Larry Paa Kwesi Moses of Media General on Monday, May 16, Comfort Gyameah stated that she requires no further remuneration than her son to be satisfied.

She added that when her son was apprehended by police on Monday, April 25, she made it obvious to the cops that her son was working hard and had no history of robbery.

Her son, 27, was taken to the Nkoranza Divisional Police Headquarters after the officers refused to listen to her appeals. On a hunting expedition, she said, she was taken to Techiman, then Kintampo, and eventually Accra in an attempt to find out where her son was sent.

Albert Donkor died in a gunfight while on his way to show the police the hiding of some “other” criminals, according to the distressed mother, who said it was on Friday, May 13 when several officials came to inform the family.

“They can’t pacify me even if they deliver me a room full of money.” Even if they build me a mansion, it won’t satisfy me. “They should bring me my son the same way they came for him,” she stated in Bono’s native dialect.

Meanwhile, Nkoranza’s youngsters are waiting for a reaction from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), whose delegation heard their complaints in a crucial meeting last week.

When the news of their friend Balusu’s death reached them on Friday, May 13, the kids marched to the streets and set fire to tyres, demanding justice.

It needed the intervention of Oheneba Agyei Baffoe, the Ankobeahene of Nkoranza Traditional Council, to prevent the situation from becoming lethal.

Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South Constituency, has already joined the call for justice for Albert Donkor.
