The Ghana under-20 lost to their Nigeria counterparts in Niger. The Black Satellites started their campaign poorly with a two nil loss to the Flying Eagles in the group B opener. The head coach attributed the loss to the weather and the fact that they didn’t go to Niger early to prepare for the tournament.
The Black Satellites will be hoping to play in Egypt in the African Cup Of Nations if they are able to get to the semi-finals. The 2020 WAFU Zone B champions will be playing Burkina Faso and will be hoping to do better in order to boost their chances for the AFCON in Egypt and the world cup in Indonesia.
WAFU Zone B features Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Togo, Niger while Zone A includes Guinea, Gambia, Cape Verde, Mali, Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone.
Coach Zito who led the team to win the cup in 2020 will be hoping for a better performance despite claims that the weather is not favourable to them.
