Apart from the free training, accommodation among other incentives would be provided to encourage learners or apprentices to retain and work hard to realize their aims.
Speaking to the correspondent in Kumasi, Mr Luqman who also doubles as the Managing Director of Luqman Engineering Services & Training Center in Kumasi observed that at this crucial moment where jobs are very hard to come by, the youth needed to be encouraged into the technical and vocational skills training to enable them secure their own jobs after passing through their apprenticeship periods.
According to him, skills training carrier is a lucrative venture but lack of encouragement and support have pushed many youth away from the trade.
Luqman indicated that as a regional vice chairman of the artisans Association as well as a professional mechanic, he cannot afford to watch the youth loitering around the cities jobless whilst he can use his little resources and skills to help them.
He noted that for the fact that some youth are not interested to learn skills to earn their living some have the interest to become mechanics, plumbers, sprayers among others but lack of financial support have been their challenges, hence he is ready to offer free skills training to any youth who is also interested to learn a trade.
According to information gathered at Luqman Engineering Services & Training Center sited behind the Islamic Senior High School on the Kumasi Bohyen – Barekesse road of which Mr Luqman Mohammed is the proud owner, he has over the years used his outfit to train number of youth of whom some of them have established their own workshops and working as Masters themselves.
My doors are widely opened for all interested youth who are anxious to take up a carrier free of charge in addition to free accommodation, Luqman stated.
