‘When I Want To Fly With You As An Upcoming Artiste, The First Thing I Look Out For Is Character’

Ghanaian musician, Ayigbe Edem has revealed what he looks out for in upcoming musicians that he wants to roll with.

He made this known in a recent interview he had on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM with Ghanaian radio show host, Andy Dosty.

In his submission, he said;

“When I want to fly with you as an up and coming artist, the first thing I look out for is character – that’s what Da’ Hammer usually looks out for.

For starters, I tell people that I do ‘African music’. And when I tell them that, they say I do ‘Afrobeat music’ — and sometimes, you can’t fight the powers.

People have been programmed to think that you are supposed to do music a particular way if you are an artist. But I am different — and because of that, it makes many people uncomfortable.”

The musician is an indigene of Dzogadze which is a small town in Abor, in the Volta Region of Ghana.

During the earlier stages of his career, Edem spent most of his youth in Accra and Aflao. He completed his primary and Junior High education at the Amazing Love International Schools. As a product of the secondary school system in Ghana, he enrolled in Bishop Herman College for his senior high school education.
