The member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Honorable Okudzeto Ablakwa has sent appeal to the ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration which is being headed by Honorable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
In his appeal, Okudzeto Ablakwa revealed how some Ghanaians spend days at the ministry in order to get a passport. He added that a lot of Ghanaians are calling on him to do something about it. He is therefore urging the ministry to make sure that things are done in a faster and easier manner for persons who need passport from the ministry.
” I make an urgent appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to take expedited steps to address the current challenges with passport acquisition. Many citizens are reaching out to us about unusually long waiting periods and sheer unavailability of 48-page booklets” he said.
Before one can travel outside the country, there is the need to acquire a passport. Could it be that the Ministry is only delaying their time to reduce the rate at which Ghanaians travel outside for greener pastures or it’s could be part of the normal process?
