Dr. Smart Sarpong in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesse boldly sends a strong message to the media houses in Ghana regarding low salaries due to the poor reports that were trending about the journalists.
Dr. Smart Sarpong said the journalists are forced to work outside their field because of money and that should not be the case.
Dr. Smart Sarpong also said the people of a particular community mostly attack and beat up the journalists whenever they come in search of news.
Due to all these things that have been happening to the journalists, Dr. Smart Sarpong said it is the main reason why the reports indicate that the journalists in Ghana performed badly in their field.
Therefore, the strong message that was sent to the owners of the media houses by Dr. Smart Sarpong is that the privately-owned media houses and the others should make sure to increase the journalists’ salaries so that it will motivate them to work more and also prevent them from risking their lives.
