Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has commented that, if Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (the Minister of Information) was a person with conscience, he would have resign from this current government.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, 5th May 2022, Oliver Barker wrote;
“If Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah was a person of conscience, he would resign from this Government!
Character is formed by tough decisions; not by being an apologist for government oppression.
That statement he has signed attacking the Press Freedom rating shows he is very much in on the mess. The perks must be too good to give up. He has become the very politician, he won the nation’s heart criticising on radio everyday.Â
Shameful!”
Oliver Barker’s comment comes as a background to the lastest response from the Ministry of Information on the Press Freedom Ranking by Reporters Without Borders. The ranking saw Ghana moved backward to 60th place in 2022. In 2021, Ghana was 30th on the list.
Response From The Ministry Of Information
According to the Ministry, Ghana’s ranking on the global press freedom has been negatively affected because of the new Methodology adapted by the Reporters Without Borders.
The above report was signed by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Oliver Barker believe that he should resign from the current government.
