The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, has argued that the dropping down of Ghana in the recent media freedom rank from the 30th position to the 60th position is not the entire fault of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo. Kwesi Pratt accused the Ghana Journalism Association of being one of the main reasons why Ghana dropped from that position. According to Kwesi Pratt, there are some things ongoing at the association which make him sick and are unpardonable. This is how he described what he claimed was going on at the Ghana Journalist Association.
“What is happening in the Ghana Journalist Association is unpardonable, it is inexcusable and it makes me completely sick”
Kwesi Pratt later revealed what he believed is going wrong in the Ghana Journalist Association.
“The Ghana Journalist Association is a mess completely It was due to have elections about nineteen months ago. It has not still had the elections yet. There have been allegations of voter lists being manipulated. Nineteen months? If an association cannot elect its leadership for 19 months, how can it stand up for press press freedom”
