Following the press freedom ranking by the world freedom index. The position of Ghana over the previous years was very promising compared to this year’s position. The country is sinking when we talk about press freedom.
Some top officials have blamed the current government as the cause of this issue because he doesn’t care about the press freedom and most of the journalist’s life have been threatened following some secret information they said about Nana Addo and his administration.
In news today another top journalist has dropped his concern about the issues bordering the media and journalists in the country. Manasseh Azure Awuni revealed he has been a journalist since former president John Agyekum Kuffour till date but the current president Nana Addo Dankwa’s era is the worst of all.
Journalists have been killed and nobody was arrested, some journalists have been brutalised by the police yet the officers were allowed to go freely. There and a lot happening in our press freedom which the government seem not to be concerned about it. Under Nana Addo Administration they are practising a culture of silence because you have the freedom to speak but after your speech, your security can’t be guaranteed.
