Sad news from Sefwi Wiawso Dwenasi in the western north indicate that Benz truck with registration number GW 7278-19, today at about 9:30am, killed a trader loading her plantain into another truck alongside the road behind Dwenasi Grestain park while 7 others the driver are receiving treatment at Green Shield Hospital.
The deceased, called Akosua Serwaa a.k.a AKOS body has been deposited at sefwi Wiawso government hospital mortuary in the Wiawso municipality.
According to the report gathered, the Benz truck with registration number AS 7533-C was parked loading plantains,pear and other food stuffs while the other truck which was descending from Sefwi Wiawso through the municipal assembly lost control of the steering wheel and per-preliminary report, due to break failure,it runs into the stationary car.
Officers from Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Road Safety were at the scene to control traffic.
Eyewitness said, the deceased woman was from Kumasi Ashanti Regional capital who usually come to Sefwi Dwenasi on Tuesdays to buy plantain and other stuff.
Her colleagues traders said that, she came today to perform her normal activities which has results to her saddened death.
ASP Juliana Forson western north regional MTTD commander confirmed the news to the media with sorrowful voice stated that, there had been numerous warning to the roadside traders to evacuate but prove futile.
She called on the traditional leader to intervened to solve the canker.
Western North Regional Deputy Fire Commander, DO1 Rev.Father Michael Nunoo spoke to the media on how they received a distress call to attend to the scene to rescue the victims.
