Dormaahene reacts to Asumegya issues

The Omanhene of Dormaa traditional area Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu ll has said that the Chief Of Asante Kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has no historical right to install Asumegyahene.

Speaking to the press today at the palace, Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu ll reacted to the news of Asumegyahene’s installation, stating that it is wrongful for the Asantehene to do that.

According to Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu ll, historically since Asumegya trace their roots to Dormaa and Dormaahene being Aduana piesie, it is therefore advisable for Dormaahene to step in and set the record straight.

He said traditions must be respected and followed and Asantehene cannot claim that he does not know that the Aduana piesie are those who have the authority to install a new chief in Asumegya.

He further threatened that history must be resorted to else he and his people will go to Asumegya there with the rightful heirs from Dormaa traditional area if the People lack the rightful heirs in the town.
