There have been massive discussions on various media platforms concerning John Mahama’s recent speech about the E-levy. John Mahama clearly stated that the NDC will abolish the E-levy when they come to power.
Some presenters of Joy FM shared their opinions on whether John Mahama really meant what he said by abolishing E-levy. According to them, John Mahama is likely to do just as he has promised Ghanaians. They believe that John Mahama has heard the cries of Ghanaians and for that matter will definitely avoid disappointing Ghanaians this time around.
The host of the show quizzed and asked if John Mahama has really learned from the mistakes he said he made when he was President. He explained that the NPP, under the leadership of Nana Addo abolished 15 taxes when they came into power in 2017. He continued by saying that the NPP later introduced this E-levy which has created several controversies in the country.
The host further revealed that it is likely that John Mahama will abolish the E-levy and later introduce a new target that will give greater burden on Ghanaians. He added that if this happens, then it means John Mahama has not really learnt from his mistakes.
