President Akufo-Addo Joins Thousands Of Mourners ;Donates 50k To Support Denkyirahene’s Burial Rites

President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo joins huge crowd of mourners on day seven of the final day of the burial rites of the late Denkyirahene, Odeefo Boa-Amponsem III.

Among them were Ministers of State, Members of Parliament (MPs) and the Diplomatic Corps.

The Queen,Nana Ama Ayensuaa Saara III flanked by ‘Amanhene’ (paramount chiefs) and Abrempong (divisional chiefs) clad in war cloth  sat in state to exchange greetings with mourners.

The funeral has been a public display of the unique culture of Denkyira and the elegance of the Denkyira Royalty.

The intimidating looks of the executioners, clattering of the swords and the performances by the traditional priests, with their faces smeared with powder, held many spellbound.

The intricate dance performances to ‘Bomaa’ ‘Asaasaa’, ‘kete’, ‘atumpan’ and ‘nwomkro’ by the queens (ahemaa) and other royals was a delight to watch.

However,  His Excellence donated 30 cartons Of drinks ,20 cartons Of Water and an amount of 50,000 cedis  to support  Denkyirahene burial rites.
