Richard Ofori and Peprah helps secure $91,000 for Orlando Pirates.

Ghanaian enterprising duo of Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah were instrumental in the qualification of Orlando Pirates to the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup competition. They eliminated Simba SC of Tanzania on penalties to progress. The Buccaneers lost the first by alone goal. In the return leg, Orlando Pirates also won by the same scoreline sending the game to penalties. Kwame Peprah was the scorer of that decisive goal. In the penalty shootout, Ofori was the hero. He saved one penalty and scored the final kick to send them into the semifinal stage.

By virtue of qualifying to the semifinals, Orlando Pirates will land an amount of R7 million rands equivalent to over $90,000 dollars from CAF. Should Pirates make it to the finals, they will earn an additional R9.8 million rands and I believe they will earn much more should they eventually lift the trophy. Both Ghanaians have been very phenomenal for Pirates this season.
