Our focus is on winning the three points against Asante Kotoko at Sogakope – WAFA

Relegation strugglers WAFA aims to win the three points against Asante Kotoko on Saturday afternoon to revive their hopes of avoiding the drop.

The academy lads are in the bottom three on the table with eight matches to end the campaign and, they do need points badly to stay up at the end of the season.

They will host the Porcupines in a GPL Matchday 27 encounter at the Red Bull Arena where they can be a handful for visiting teams on their day.

This season has not gone according to plan for them, but, they still are very difficult to breakdown on home soil and, this is a positive karma they will look to carry into the game.

They have won all their six matches this season at home and, they intend to make it a seventh against Asante Kotoko at the weekend.

A club spokesperson told the local media that they aim to win this fixture as a prelude to what is to come for the rest of the campaign.

“We are confident of staying in the league next season, and, we will give off our all to avoid relegation”, he said.

“WAFA has come a long way and, we cannot go down like this, Asante Kotoko will fall on Saturday”, he added.

The academy lads have 26 points from the 26 matches they have played, three points away from the relegation zone and, they will look to put in a decent performance in an attempt to win this fixture.

Asante Kotoko leads the standing by seven points, but, they have lost their last two games and, confidence in their camp cannot be said to be on a high and, WAFA will look to pounce on this.
