To GES And Teacher Unions, Ghanaian Teachers Are Asking: Na Yɛn Laptops No Wɔ He?

Many teachers who have not yet received the TM1 laptops have expressed their disappointment in the GES and the teacher unions on teachers. Others are worried about when they will receive their purchased laptops. Their sentiments are expressed on various teachers platforms on Facebook, telegram and Whatsapp.

Thomas Musah, the general secretary made a declaration during his tour of the Volta and Oti Regions that; “Teachers in all regions with the exception of Ashanti and 2 districts in the Oti Region have received their laptops,” brought massive reactions to the topic.

The former National president of GNAT, Philippa Larson also promised the entire membership of the union and for that matter Teachers during the GNAT DELEGATES CONFERENCE that,

The union leadership had agreement with the president of the republic that an amount of Ghs 44.55 of the laptops Money paid by Teachers will be refund to members by the end of February.

Its now 25th April and the said amount has still not been paid.

1. Don’t teachers deserve an explanation as to the state of the refund?

2. Was the former president of GNAT deceiving conference?

3. All issues raised by members during conference in respect to the laptops, which committee has been set up to make sure the issues pertaining to the laptops are addressed?

4. Didn’t leadership of the union gave GES up to December ultimatum for all members to receive their laptops? Why is it that majority of members have still not received the laptops and leadership is not saying anything?

The truth is not even all SHS teachers have received the laptops. Not all JHS teachers have also received and No primary school teacher has also recieved it.

So, to GES and teacher unions, Ghanaian teachers are asking: “na yɛn laptops no wɔ he?
