The Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the National Sports Authority and the GFA piloted an e-ticketing measure for the recent world cup qualifiers between Ghana and Nigeria at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
People who wanted to get the match ticket easily got it from their mobile phones without having to queue, waste time, or get it from the market.
With the help of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, everything could be monitored from a dashboard from when the first ticket was booked to the last and when the stadium got to its full capacity.
It was a successful pilot as it yielded 1.423 Million Ghana cedis. This was the highest ever recorded revenue for any football match in the history of Ghana. This was achieved through digitization.
Now, the government of Ghana has reached another potential level of raising money for any occasion and not football only.
