The English Premier League resumed today with a number of exciting games. These are the final days of the season, and no team in the league wants to make mistakes that will cost them European Championship slots or the opportunity to compete in the following season’s competition.
Arsenal has high expectations of finishing in the top four of the English Premier League this season. Arsenal put in a strong performance against one of the league’s best teams this season, Chelsea. Before this game, few, if any, people expected such a result. The Gunners defeated their London rivals by four goals to two. Arsenal’s victory today keeps the Gunners in fifth place, level on points with city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City, the defending champions, remain atop the league table with 77 points. Liverpool, on the other hand, remains a point behind the defending champions. Chelsea is in third place with 62 points, while Tottenham Hotspur is in fourth place with 57 points. Burnley, Watford, and Norwich City are all in the relegation zone.
