Aspiring Nyeri Senator under Narc Kenya’s party Kabando Wa Kabandao has defended his party leader Martha Karua ,after Mwalimu Joshua Njenga wondered how many governors, senators, MPs and MCAs were elected under her party.
All this resulted after a section of women supporting Raila Odinga’s presidential bid under the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition fronted Karua as Raila’s best running mate ahead of the August polls.
Kabando said that the number of elected leaders in a certain party does not equate to brilliance of the party leader, and that Mr. Njenga ought to have considered the qualities Karua holds.
The former Mukurweini MP praised Karua saying that she is a bold leader who is keen to deal with graft and make the country free from corruption.
“Mwalimu, please, don’t lower the bar. Main problem in this our motherland is corruption (read impunity). My Party Leader Martha Karua stands tall, is self-made, brilliant, bold, change-agent. Don’t try pull her down, your question is NOT about her qualities. Watch this space,” he tweeted.
There has been a standoff in the Azimio-OKA Camp, on who is best suited to be the running mate, with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies maintaining that he is the best, while a section of Mt Kenya leaders have been fronting Lee Kinyanjui, Peter Munya, Karua and Peter Kenneth.
