Five (5) people were killed and several others were injured in a horrific accident in Trede, a suburb of Pekyi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region.
The three-vehicle accident occurred as a result of a commercial vehicle driver’s careless overtaking.
The vehicle, with the registration number Cr. 1573–21, was completely damaged, according to the report.
The commercial vehicle with the registration number CR. 1573–21 collided with a damaged and parked Kia vehicle loaded with cassava while attempting to swerve a trailer vehicle with the registration number AS-1287-20 during an overtaking maneuver.
Five passengers died instantly, and the remaining passengers were injured.
Many people have lost their lives in an accident. It is the shared responsibility of all and sundry in curbing road accidents.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
