1. Banco Central Burglary

$70 million from the vault of the Banco Central branch located in Brazil, on August 6, 2005. Posing as landscapers, the gang behind this enormous heist spent three months digging a 256-foot tunnel to a position beneath the bank.

2. Brink’s-MAT Robbery

This occurred at the Heathrow International Trading Estate, London, on 26 November 1983. £26 million worth of gold bullion, diamonds, and cash was stolen from a warehouse. While much of the gang has been convicted, the gold has never been recovered

3. Securitas Depot Robbery

The Securitas depot robbery was a large heist in Tonbridge, Kent, England. It began with a kidnapping on the evening of 21st February 2006 and ended in the early hours of 22 February, when the criminals left the depot with almost £53 million

4. Northern Bank Robbery

This robbery led to the loss of £26.5 million ($41 million) from the Northern Bank. A gang posing as officials coaxed their into the homes of 2 of the bank managers, they were told to head to work as normal, and told to let the robbers in at the end of business hours. As of today the crime remains unsolved.

5. Central Bank of Iraq Robbery

This heist was ordered directly by Saddam Hussein himself just days before the American invasion. A note signed by Hussein, instructing that $920 million be withdrawn by the bank and given it to his son Qusay, at least $650 million was discovered

6. British Bank of The Middle East’s Robbery

In the heat of Lebanon’s civil war, a group associated with the Palestinian Liberation blasted through the bank’s walls through a church next door they reportedly walked away with up to $50 million worth of gold and cash.

7. The Knightsbridge Vault Robbery London

This robbery was perpetrated by Italian playboy and career criminal Valerio Viccei, who was implicated in over 50 different bank robberies during his lifetime. This robbery led to the loss of £62 million ($97 million).

8. Dar Es Salaam Bank Heist, Baghdad

The Iraqi Interior Minister did reveal that the whole heist was engineered by a pair of guards who worked for the bank, and were allegedly connected to militias roaming the region back in 2007. $282 million got lost.

9. The Great Train Robbery

The robbery of £2.6 million heading from Glasgow to London, a gang of 15 robbers which involved rigging the trackside signals to stop the train in a remote location, where the conductor was overpowered and the loot was stolen.

10. Dunbar Armored Robbery Los Angeles

The mastermind was a regional safety inspector for Dunbar who recruited five of his childhood friends to ambush the guards at a stocked cash drop vault. To this day, more than half of the money remains unaccounted for. $18.9 million is the total amount of money stolen
