In an exclusive interview with Nation Africa, Azimio’s Peter Kenneth was taken to task after he was asked to give his opinion on the percentage of votes that he expects Raila Odinga to scoop countrywide in the upcoming presidential elections.
Responding to the question, the former lawmaker highlighted a number of counties allegedly preserved for the deputy president William Ruto and where Raila will not cross the 50% vote share.
According to Kenneth, Raila will be beaten by Ruto in most of the Rift Valley counties. He named Kajiado, Turkana, Samburu, West Pokot and Uasin Gishu as counties where Raila will only get 30% – 40%. He was confident that these counties are preserved for the DP but Raila’s campaign trails in the counties will see him get atleast a sizeable chunk of the votes.
In Central Kenya popularly known as Mount Kenya, Kenneth said that Raila only managed to get 5% in the past elections. This time round, Kenneth is confident that Raila’s acceptance in the region has improved and he might get 30 – 40% share of the votes. In total, Kenneth opined that Raila will win the race with a minimum of 60 – 65% with a more that 50% in 30 counties.
