It was in the Year 2011 when I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination and scored a grade E.
Sadness engulfed my life, I clearly knew this could be the end of my life.I refused completely to disclose my results to my family members. My dad who did odd jobs to pay my school fees demanded to know my results. I calmed down and explained to my loving dad. The moment he heard of my results he officially disowned me as he his son.
I moved in to my uncles home in Kisauni Mombasa where I assisted him in his farm.
It is from here where I learnt the important virtues of living a successful life. He taught me on ways of making my own money from home. He generously offered me part of his farm where I planted vegetables and we supplied directly to the market every Wednesday.
My uncle who always had a meeting with me every evening taught me the importance saving money and on ways of saving money.
He also taught me on the importance of writing down my goals. My lovely uncle always reiterated on the need to learn a skill that will help me grow economically.
I had saved enough money and I enrolled in a nearby Polytechnic and pursued carpentry.I loved designing furniture since my childhood and I actually wanted to make my dream come true.

After completing my studies my uncle was extremely happy on my move. He offered me his old shop to be my new workshop. He further helped me to purchase some machinery to run my new workshop.
Five years down the line I had employed over ten youths to help me in my workshop since the orders from schools around was overwhelming. My uncle who mentored me was now proud of my move.

When my Dad had of my success he travelled all the way to my workshop and was shocked. He apologized to me for disowning me at a time I needed him the most.
My uncle explained to him that getting an ‘E’ was not the end of life but the true definition of who I was.
As I write to your this I own over 15 workshops in Mombasa County. Where we also receive students for internship programs.
Glory Be to God.
