There are some areas in South Africa where one should only set their foot when they are sure of their security. In the Gauteng Province, neighborhoods which were once rated as safe havens are now turning out to be the dens of criminals. One such area is Soshanguve and members from the South African Police Services are being given a torrid time. Reports of residents being terrorised by the thugs who patrol in this area are being reported in large numbers.
A media statement which was published today by the police department showed that the criminals are taking their game to the next level. It was reported that in Soshanguve in the Reitgat policing precinct, there has been a spike in cases of truck hijackings.
This has resulted in the area being classified as a hotspot as the robbers are not playing around. Furniture removal companies are being called upon by the police department to kindly contact them prior to setting their foot in this policing precinct. 
They go on to deposit of removal fees upfront and invite the truck to a fake address. Once the truck comes within the perpetrators reach, they hijack the truck. This situation has made operating trucking busineses in the area hard.
To help curb the scourge, the station urges all the removal trucking businesses to inform the station about their presence in the area. Police officers now joining hands with community members as they now seek to find a lasting solution.
