Life is a not a bed of roses, there are bad and good days but that shouldn’t in any way starve us of laughter. As we all know that laughter is one of the greatest medicine that you shouldn’t cease from smiling/laughing everyday of your life despite the situation you see yourself.
Following the ongoing crisis between two European countries, Russia and Ukraine, South Africans memers have gone deep to craft out funny memes out of the crisis. Some of them use photos covered in the respective countries, while others make funny captions on it.
A South African twitter user, @Lifeafter18, shared a photo of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, pointing to what seems to be Durban in a world map following the war outrage. The picture in question shows Putin and other people seated in an aeroplane while looking at the map of Africa. Putin’s finger seems to be pointing where Durban is situated while the other man points his pen same area on the map.
The photo which many believed to be photoshopped have really garnered a lot of reactions from people on social media as they make funny comments. Below are some people’s comments on the photo:
@Keed, Putin isn’t God so he ain’t going to decide who lives or goes, we got our own military, we are not afraid.
@Esma, That’s what western propaganda is good at, devide and rule now they want South Africans to fight amongst themselves.
@Joseph, SA always joke about everything even those students who are stuck in Ukraine they were told to leave prior to this but they just laughed instead.
@Caine, S.A. is one crazy country (negatively), they joked about Covid-19 when it started until it was real and affected the country.
In my own opinion, some people on the East coast of the country are feeling and doesn’t think this should be seen as a stick of laughter. Some are also feeling bad for those students that are stranded in Ukraine with little hope of getting to safer country due to racism.
