A father is supposed to be the head of the family and his duty is to ensure that his family is well taken care of.
But a Zimbabwean man from Chipinge did the direct opposite.
He abandoned his family for ten years without even communicating with them to find out how they were coping.
He went quiet on them for ten years only to reappear recently with sad news at hand. He had come to sell off the family house.
This has now left the Mucheto brothers — Panashe, Nyasha and Gerald — without a home as they were recently served with an eviction order by the new owner of the house and Chipinge businessman, Mr Gift Vumbu.
The businessman bought the house in ZBS area of Gaza suburb from the siblings’ father, Mr Jonathan Mucheto for US$8 500.
The matter has since gone to court as the siblings are fighting their eviction saying they do not have any other place to stay.
The brothers are also claiming that the house belongaled to their late mother and their father had no legal right to sell it off.
They told the courts that their father only started visiting them after their mother passed away. He is married and now lives with another wife.
The case continues.
