The National Institute for Communicable Diseases released Covid-19 statistics for South Africa on Thursday . The number of Covid-19 tests that were carried out on Thursday were 30 818 , taking the total number of tests that have been done to more than 22-million . The number of cases that were identified as being positive on Thursday were 2411 . 
The cumulative number of positive cases then increased to 3 667 660 . South Africa lost seven people as a result of Covid-19 related sicknesses according to the latest statistics . The total number of people who have died from the disease now stands at 99 018 . It was also revealed by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases that the country of South Africa had a total of 34 847 active cases . The good news is that there are 3 533 695 people who have fully recovered from Covid-19 since 2020 .
