The Hawks did a good job on Friday after they arrested a top official in the department of health on allegations of being involved in corruption . The official is reported to be connected to more than R21-million corruption which involved the Personal Protective Equipment during the outbreak of the pandemic .
In the report , it was alleged that the 59 year old Jabulani Rolland Nkosi got arrested by the Hawks in Mpumalanga for violation of the Public Finance Management Act . It was alleged in the report that the suspect was the acting head of department in the Department of Education .
It was then that the department under his leadership there was a procurement of PPEs that were not classified .It was discovered by the Hawks during the investigations that the PPEs were irregularly procured and that proper procedure was not followed . The suspect was released on R10 000 bail and he will appear in court on the 20th of April 2022.
