On Wednesday, February 24, a 28-YEAR-OLD lady will appear in the Bellville Magistrates Court for questioning.
She was apprehended at the Cape Town International Airport on Tuesday, February 22 with cocaine and heroin having a total street value of R870 000. She was charged with drug possession and was released.
An integrated multidisciplinary operation, comprising the Hawks’ drugs enforcement department, criminal intelligence, and the customs division of the South African Revenue Services, according to spokesperson Zinzi Hani, resulted in the capture of the suspect.
This action was taken in response to a tip-off on the travel of a suspect between Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Cape Town, South Africa, on Qatar Airline. Authorities reportedly discovered more than 2,7kg of cocaine and 200g of heroin hidden in her suitcase and shoes when they searched her belongings,” Hani claimed.
She was apprehended, and the narcotics were confiscated in order to conduct additional investigation.
Brigade General Mushavhaduvha Ramovha, acting provincial leader of the Hawks in the Western Cape, congratulated both teams on their accomplishment.
