Several South Africans have applauded Botswana for dealing decisively with criminals, some of which are from South Africa.
According to SAfmnews, nine suspected cash-in-transit robbers from South Africa and Botswana killed in shootout with police in Botswana capital Gaborone. Botswana’s assistant Police Commissioner has confirmed that a shootout took place after 11 heavily armed men attacked and robbed cash-in-transit van in the Gaborone’s main mall.
The robbers fled the scene but were followed and confronted by police at a location just outside Gaborone. The confrontation led to an arrest of a 30-year old Motswana woman. Four pistols and an AK 47 were found on the scene. Most of the stolen cash has been recovered.
ActionSA Leader, Herman Mashaba has applauded Botswana for this action. “I have lots of respect for the Botswana Government. There have no time for criminality, hence their phenomenal economic growth over the last 30 years,” he said.
@Leslie1 So this other South African criminal went to Botswana to commit crime…We have issues here of foreign nationals committing crimes yet he does the same as a foreign national. Botswana police did well by getting rid of dangerous criminals from the streets.
@McDee_ Us South Africans, unlike Zimbabweans, we welcome this heroic act by Botswana Police Forces. Well done. Any South African committing crime on a foreign soil deserves what is coming to them.
@Real_Liberty I thought South Africans don’t commit crime in other countries. Botswana doesn’t play.
@KhosaXikombiso They are Zimbabweans using fake SA identity documents. However, we welcome this good news.
@PhutiMathobela What i love about Botswana is that they don’t nurse criminals like us on South Africa. there they kill you they don’t have time for freedom or whatever.
Meanwhile, a suspect believed to have shot at a police helicopter during an operation against an alleged cash-in-transit gang in Rosettenville has reportedly been arrested in Tembisa. Police also seized rifles, ammunition, police and G4S bullet proof vests.
