A foreign teacher in Mpumalanga was awarded with two awards for achieving top results in Mathematics and Physical sciences. The Zambian teacher achieved the impressive work of achieving a 100 percent mark in both Mathematics and Physical sciences.
Abraham Tatila the Zambian teacher who teaches at Ermelo Combined School in the Msukaligwa 1 circuit in Mpumalanga province. What is even impressive about this is the fact that all his students passed his two subjects Mathematics and Physical sciences which South African students are struggling to pass. All this comes as there are calls coming from certain individuals that foreign teachers must be removed from their posts and make way for local teachers.
The teacher’s results will surely become a big talking point due to the fact that some schools in other province’s like Limpopo have been getting rid of foreign teachers, those province’s are left with no teacher’s to teach Mathematics and Physical sciences. It is believed minister of education Angie Motsheka is considering hiring foreign mathematics and Physical sciences by giving them short term contracts.
