Limpopo best taxi drivers who prioritise safety and responsible for transporting thousands of commuters to be awarded this Saturday.
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya is expected to handover awards to deserving Taxi Drivers during the driver of the year awards ceremony. This will take in Polokwane ( Bolivia Lodge) on Saturday, 26 February 2022 at 17:00.
According to the MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, the annual drivers’ competition is aimed at recognising the drivers who prioritize safety above everything on our roads.
Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya says that the 2022 edition of the Driver of the year awards will focus on Taxi Drivers who are responsible for transporting thousands of commuters on a daily basis.
Lerule-Ramakhanya says the focus on drivers will motivate them to adhere to traffic rules and also to be road safety ambassadors.
She says the transformation of the taxi industry has attracted a lot of female taxi drivers and they will also be honoured and awarded for their critical role of transporting commuters.
