Over the past week, former president Jacob Zuma’s allies, and RET forces intensified their calls that president Cyril Ramaphosa must step aside.
One of Jacob Zuma’s close associates, and spokesperson, Mzwanele Manyi joined the bandwagon calling for Cyril Ramaphosa’s removal from the Union Building. He said Ramaphosa does not deserve to be there.
“That Ramaphosa must vacate the Union Building is too important a project to be left to the ANC.#Akabuyi #RamaphosaMustGo,” he said.

Manyi when questioned who does he have in mind to replace president Cyril Ramaphosa at the Union Building if he is removed, his response surreal, said “at this point even empty chair could serve South Africa better.”
“We can do both. Punish the corrupt and remove the incompetent president. Nothing compels us to wait for more damage until 2024,” Manyi said.
It was not only Mzwanele Manyi who is pushing the narrative that Cyril Ramaphosa must be sacked. Former Eskom executive, Koko Matshela although he said he doesn’t belong to any faction of the ANC said the movement is going downhill under president Cyril Ramaphosa.
Matshela also applauded for Thabo Mbeki when he throws shade at Cyril Ramaphosa’s second term bid, where he called out those him to contest again. Mbeki asks what’s that and argued that instead of comrades focusing on renewing the movement, they are busy focusing on who should become president.
“All that I know about the ANC is that it was once a party that had more than 2/3 majority in the national assembly and it blew it all. It is now a 46% party and dropping. Those who seems to understand that they are dwindling by the day. Their leadership is out of touch,” he said.
Matshela further argued that what Limpopo Provincial chair Stan Mathabatha did of Ramaphosa in January for a second term was embarrassing, and something foreign to the ANC. He adds even still Cyril Ramaphosa failed to call his comrade to order.
“The embarrassing part of this episode is that Mathabatha said this in presence of Cyril Ramaphosa. He never called him to order. Premier in the Northern Cape did exactly the same. No one called him to order too. I am very happy that I don’t know this ANC,” he said.
