Single and Mingle brought out all the misogyny in South Africa during their first episode of the evening. We met a beautiful Zim lady who was as charming as ever during her date, but viewers could only focus on comparing her to South African ladies.
It was a let down of a rather interesting episode.
Welcome and Victoria had a language barrier between them but they didn’t let that stop them from having a good time. Marriage proposal were being thrown left and right by own smitten welcome who was sure he had found the love of his life in the first few minutes. It was sweet of him and he complimented her the entire time.

However, for some South African men and women, this was a chance to take pot shots at our local women but making snide remarks about them only being interested in money.

While one user was suspicious about Victoria’s motive and why she was acting so affectionate to Welcome, writing, “She’s Zimbo, she badly wants marriage and automatic citizenship”
Personal Thoughts
I can’t say I know what motivates Victoria but to me she seemed like a really sweet lady who had her heart open to the possibility of love If she was being disingenuous then she must be a great actress because I truly believed her.
Their connection might be something worth exploring but I hope Welcome tones it down a little, he was way too excited during their date. It’s understandable as he alluded to not feeling handsome when he received a compliment too he might be a tad insecure. I hope that doesn’t make him rush things.
